The old East German Ampelmännchen (or “little cross walk man”). It’s now used at crosswalks all over Berlin and is one of the few modern holdovers from the former communist regime. Love his little hat.

A view of the ruins of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin (you can see where the top of the steeple as been broken off) , with a sausage stand in the foreground. Like many such stands we saw all over Berlin, this one sells “currywurst”, which is, as far as we could tell, chopped up bratwurst with curry powder and some sort of sauce poured all over it.
