Scarrrry Forest

Some freaky looking trees in the west of Scotland. Canon EOS 40D, f/4.5, 1/320 s, ISO 250, 24-105@24mm.

For this photo I tried something a bit different. The original image was a bit underexposed, so I thought I’d exploit that by attempting to make the scene look more “scary”. In Photoshop I ended up applying a blue-green gradient map with the hue blend mode. It might be a little overdone but I kinda like the effect… It makes it seem a bit more ominous and freaky looking.

This was taken in the forest near Arrochar in the west of Scotland, by the way.
